Transcript of question on Steam for the records:

Ben: do you see the green as male female or genderless?

Chris: Genderless.

Ben: damn pronouns

Chris: Sorry not genderless, both genders simultaneously, it is mother and father to the world, it is life, guidance and care.

Ben: fair enough

Chris: just putting that into the e-mail bits so that it is all together and I can transcribe it out.

Ben: cool thanks

Chris: I would be calling it by it's own pronoun, give me a sec and I'll find the French and bastardise it.

Ben: cool

Chris: On = he/she, Soi (pronounced Swa) for his/hers Both of which are basically the french.

GM

The Green tells you that soi is your guide in this world, and beyond that it is not soi's place to say. Things in this world live then die and beyond that soi has no domain.

As you and your group sing towards you through the early morning mist a group of 13 approach singing softly. Their song seems lost in the marsh but as they get closer their song grows stronger. It seems oddly accented and there are several words you just don't understand but as they draw closer you see their forms. They are slightly taller than the rest of the tribe, and their features seem closer to your clans original form.

They stand before you singing their song. Exploration, hunger, impossibly tall hollow mountains, shallow seas and death. Then they sing of a small village on the beaches of the shallow sea. Shorter frog like tribe who craft with flint and shell and build rafts of reeds. They look to you as their song dies away sucked into the marshes. They look to your response.

PC

Tears in his eyes he rushes to embrace them. He orders food and drink and song. he brings them to the base of the tower where he sings them the First Song, then encourages them all to sing in turn with the Verse of Years. After a few hours he will remember the Prophets warning and try to determine through observation and asking the Green that they are the remnants of the 40. If they are continue to next paragraph, if not he will question them on their deception, obviously very upset (as in sad).

This will likely take many weeks, after the first week he will have decided whether they are ready to bring to the other settlements (likely order would be the Lake, then along the western and northern coast, then to the Forest, then the mountain where we will add to the map together, then to the grove where we will rest and celebrate).

I will also need to know why they did not return sooner.

(Postscript: the reason was that it just took that long to go there and come back, it was a hellish journey)

EPILOGUE

If the campaign had continued I was going to improve the boating skills and cross both to the Longribrume, the Grey Cliffs beyond the shallow sea. Set up a small community there as a base camp for Bond Scouts to explore that landmass. I would have tried to also get ia stable route (either over the marsh or along the coast) to the 'Frog-People' and begin dialogues and hopefully trade with them.

I would have tried to have the 'Crown' (which was just three young saplings braided together and shaped into a circlet) turned into an artifact so that any who wore it could commune with the Green themselves, I would be it's guardian and would grant use of it. I would also have tried to make lesser copies of the crown so that the far-flung parts of my tribe could communicate through chosen guardians.

I would have had my people save more food before each winter and, once David's dragons had flown over and the harsh winter was heralded, make sure efforts were redoubled to provide sufficient shelter and food. I would also have suggested that a few of the most daring Bond-Scouts attempt to discern where the Dragons had come from, so as to learn more about them.
